9/18/2015
WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (September 18, 2015) – Watkins Glen International announced today the creation of the R.A.C.E (Racing and Community Enrichment) Foundation, a donor-advised fund of the NASCAR Foundation, geared to lead all community outreach and charitable giving for the historic road course facility located in the Finger Lakes region of New York.
According to its mission statement, R.A.C.E will use the backing of a close-knit community to foster meaningful fundraising efforts, while leaning on support from the international motorsports family.
R.A.C.E. intends to facilitate event planning as well as charitable giving. The foundation will participate in community-wide events, in addition to the organization and execution of its own.
“Watkins Glen International’s R.A.C.E Foundation will bring together our staff, resources, and ideas to benefit some great causes,” said Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup. “RACE has been in the planning stages for quite a while, and we’re now ready to tackle our objectives and implement our mission.”
