The excitement of the 2011 season at Watkins Glen International came to a close less than three weeks ago, but the 2012 season at WGI is right around the corner. Renewal brochures for 2012 will be shipped to account holders starting on Monday, October 10 – less than two weeks from today! Fans that renew will not only save the most money; they also have the opportunity to upgrade their seats and campsites before both go on sale to the general public. The Glen is again waving services fees and offering several payment plans to provide fans flexibility in paying for their purchase.

Out With The Old and in With The New at The Glen
Watkins Glen International was a hotbed of activity leading into and during the 2011 season as a sweeping $3.1 million capital improvement project made extensive changes to the legendary road course. The 2012 season promises to be another busy year at The Glen, both on and off the track. The International Speedway Corporation (NASDAQ: ISCA) Board of Directors (BOD) has approved approximately $1.5 million of funding to replace three more grandstands at WGI. This latest capital improvement project will bring the amount invested into The Soul of American Road Racing since 2001 to just over $30 million.

American Bus Association Names Finger Lakes Wine Festival One of North America's 100 Best Events
The American Bus Association (ABA) announced that the Finger Lakes Wine Festival, to be held on July 13-15, has been designated as one of the Top 100 Events in North America for 2012 by an experience expert tourism industry selection committee. Inclusion in the Top 100 list, published as a supplement to the September/October issue of Destinations magazine, indicates that the Finger Lakes Wine Festival offers excellent entertainment value to both tour groups and individual travelers from around the world, according to ABA.

WGI Seeks Fan Nominations for 2011 Legends of The Glen
The history of racing in Watkins Glen reached an impressive 63 years in 2011 and there are few people that know The Glen’s history better than the fans. In an attempt to tap into that extensive knowledge and allow fans to have an impact on the honoring of that history, Watkins Glen International is once again looking for fan nominations for the next class of the Legends of The Glen. Nominations can be submitted starting immediately until Sunday, November 2. The 2012 Class of the Legends of The Glen will be announced over the course of the 2012 season.

Watkins Glen International and Watkins Glen Tops Team Up to Help Owego Flood Victims
Last week, many residents in the Southern Tier of New York and Northern Tier of Pennsylvania had their homes damaged or destroyed following severe flooding. In response, Watkins Glen International along with the Watkins Glen Tops Friendly Markets donated a variety of items to support the Owego, NY community; an area hit particularly hard by these events. As was the case throughout the Twin Tiers, the substantial flooding was caused by heavy rains that fell in the region on September 7 and 8.
