The Rum Bum Racing Porsche 997 driven by Matt Plumb and Nick Longhi triumphed in a hard fought race over the CKS Autosport Camaro GS.R of Eric Curren and Lawson Aschenbach in the GS class of the Continental Tire 150 at The Glen. Aschenbach made repeated moves over the final three laps in an effort to challenge Plumb, who had taken the lead on Lap 43 with 45 minutes left in the race. The race saw seven caution periods as racers sliced and diced fiercely through twists and turns of Watkins Glen International.

Legends of The Glen Inductee on Pole
Moments after his induction into the Legends of The Glen, Scott Pruett steered the No. 01 TELMEX/Ganassi BMW/Riley to the pole position for Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen. Pruett took his first DP pole position in two years at The Glen and Jordan Taylor claimed the GT pole for the second-consecutive year in Saturday’s qualifying at Watkins Glen International.

Sahlen’s Renews Title Sponsorship of GRAND-AM Endurance Race
Sahlen’s Packing Company, Inc. announced a multi-year renewal of its partnership with Watkins Glen International as title sponsor of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen GRAND-AM Road Racing Series event. Currently the longest consecutive title sponsorship at The Glen, this season marks the 10th year of this partnership.

Watkins Glen International announced the induction of three members to the Legends of The Glen. Derek Bell, James Hunt, and Scott Pruett will join a prestigious group of individuals who have made remarkable contributions to The Glen throughout their careers and played significant roles in the history of this legendary road course.

The 2012 Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen entry list announced by GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series includes 2011 two-time winners at The Glen, Max Angelelli and Ricky Taylor as well as last week’s victors Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas in the DP Class. Paul Tracy returns to The Glen in the No. 77 Doran Racing Ford Dallara, co-driving with Jim Lowe. Highlights among the GT Class include Boris Said in the No. 31 Marsh Racing Corvette and Patrick Dempsey co-driving the No. 40 Dempsey Racing Mazda RX-8 with Joe Foster. Green flag drops at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 1.
