Ricky Taylor on Pole for Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen
Ricky Taylor, driving the #10 SunTrust Racing Chevrolet Dallara, laid down his fast lap (1:40.691 at 121.560mph) early in the 15 minute qualifying session for Saturday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen. He then parked his car and watched as his competition tried to knock him off the top spot. “We came off the trailer super strong; it made my job easy,” said the son of team owner Wayne Taylor. “I’m looking forward to the race.”

Barbosa and Law Sprint to Win Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen Win
In one of the closest finish in event history, Joao Barbosa and Darren Law won the 31st running of Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen driving their Action Express Racing Corvette DP, beating out Alex Gurney and Jon Fogarty in the GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Corvette DP by a scant 0.238 seconds. Barbosa caught Gurney in traffic with 20 minutes remaining and used lapped cars to his advantage throughout the final run to the checkered flag.

The 2012 Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen entry list announced by GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series includes 2011 two-time winners at The Glen, Max Angelelli and Ricky Taylor as well as last week’s victors Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas in the DP Class. Paul Tracy returns to The Glen in the No. 77 Doran Racing Ford Dallara, co-driving with Jim Lowe. Highlights among the GT Class include Boris Said in the No. 31 Marsh Racing Corvette and Patrick Dempsey co-driving the No. 40 Dempsey Racing Mazda RX-8 with Joe Foster. Green flag drops at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 1.

Frisselle and Richard Post Fastest Time in GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series Practice
Brian Frisselle and Henri Richard, in the #77 Office Depot Doran Racing Ford Dallara (1:06.887; 131.864 mph), posted the fastest speed during the two practice sessions for the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series Canadian Tire 200 at The Glen. Defending race winners Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas, driving the #01 TELMEX BMW Riley, were fifth fastest at 1:07.073 (131.499 mph). Fastest among the GT racers were Robin Liddell and Jan Magnussen, driving the #57 Stevenson Auto Group Camaro GTR (1:13.218; 120.462 mph).
