Watkins Glen International Awarded State Funding for Modernization and Repaving
Watkins Glen International is pleased to announce that it has been awarded $2.25 million by the State of New York and Governor Andrew Cuomo to assist in modernization efforts and repaving of the historic facility. Watkins Glen International receives the award after being named a Priority Project by the Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council (STREDC) in 2014. The grant comes on the heels of $33.5 million in private capital investments at Watkins Glen International over the past 10 years, with an additional $12 million committed for 2015. The investments cement The Glen’s position as the premier road racing facility in North America.
