The Official Watkins Glen International pace car was featured in the send-off procession of two Cornell University buses transporting volunteers from the Cayuga Health hospital systems to New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan.

ITHACA, N.Y. (April 4, 2020) The Official Watkins Glen International pace car was a part of a procession of two Cornell University buses transporting 60 healthcare volunteers from Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca to New York City this morning to help fight COVID-19. The healthcare heroes will be taking care of patients at New York Presbyterian Hospital in the city. They are expected to be there for at least the next 30 days.

Cornell University donated two buses to help shuttle the healthcare workers to New York City. Doctor Martin Stallone, Chief Executive Officer of Cayuga Medical Center and Cayuga Health, Representative Tom Reed, Assemblywoman Barbara Lifton and Cornell University President, Martha Pollack all spoke at this morning’s send-off. They thanked the heroes for their bravery, gratitude, hard work and dedication during this difficult time.
